2nd Amendment to the Constitution of The United States of America

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

"I ask sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people except for a few politicians."

The AR is a gadget...so says Wired.

Came across this article on a WTA thread...pretty decent write up from what I would call "a neutral observer" in most regards reporting on what has become truly a societal phenomena.   I think I may have stated here or on some other medium that it does not surprise me that millions of AR style rifles are in the hands of Americans.  Is been our primary service rifle for over 40 years and there are many, myself included, that shot their first "real" gun with a M16 in their hands at basic training.  Also, being that its a military firearm in use it also is recognizable to the point that it has been put to use as a prop in Hollywierd and other entertainment realms, both good and bad, as well as the massive video gaming industry...where it indeed is a superstar of sorts.  All of this lead to the sales numbers that the article alludes to and also espouses some of these same observations.

Anyway, bit of a long read but worth it for the readers of this or other similar blogs....
