A few weeks ago I published this pic of a WWII Vintage StG44 assault rifle that I found in an out of the way military museum in North Carolina..
The following pic is now circulating showing one of these weapons in the hands of a rebel fighter in Syria...
I guess it makes sense, K98's are still being fielded across the world after 100+ years, I guess a more modern 65+ year old design will pop up now and then too. Apparently a large cache of these things were found recently there (around 5,000) and they have been pressed into service once again. These would of brought a high premium to collectors but now will face the abuse of combat once again.
