2nd Amendment to the Constitution of The United States of America

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

"I ask sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people except for a few politicians."

Gun violence...a Social Disease?

There is a story going around about how gun violence should be dealt with as a social issue the same way we dealt with traffic fatalities.  More restrictions.  I have to admit I always buckle up and think you should to, but instead of saying we need fewer weapons or treating gun ownership like a symptom, why don't we insist on including weapons safety as a subject we teach in schools, or conflict resolution or something along those lines.  Removing weapons from the hands of law abiding citizens only allows the criminals to enjoy a more target friendly environment.  This article really got me ticking and I was formulating a response and then I saw The Mad Ogre already did a pretty damn good one...go read it.
