2nd Amendment to the Constitution of The United States of America

A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

"I ask sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people except for a few politicians."

In the eye of the beholder....

Here is a pic that a friend of mine from WTA and FaceBook, Paul, posted of a Swiss K-31 he cleaned up.

Simply a beautiful pic.  Blue sky, clean wood, straight lines...I know I cannot speak for everyone, but there is a certain beauty with these wood firearms that plastic weapons simply cannot come close to reaching. These old wood shooters are often found in store racks, on sites selling surplus and C&R guns as well as on the pages of private listings on the internet. Many of these old surplus guns have fallen prey to poor storage, bad owners and the ravages of time.  Fortunately there are people like Paul that take the time to restore these arms to their former glory.

Not everyone views firearms in this way.  To be sure, to many they are an object of horror and disgust.  To them I say we live in a country where our courts have allowed people to desecrate our flag and protest soldier funerals, all under the guise of free speech. If I choose to view a piece of crafted wood and metal that may have been used for the honorable protection of these same rights of free speech, well, which is the more disgusting display.

Absolutely brilliant and excellent observations on the way the world, U.S. in particular, is at in they way they think.
