Tracers at night...shooters delight

Had to steal this from ENDO....

Reminds me of night qualification one time when I had a friend load me up with a mag of all tracers....normally we got one round in 5 or so, but I had a full magazine of them.  You shoot at 25 meters at a pop up target that was dimly illuminated and tried to knock it down 10 times.  Range NCO went nuts when he noticed that I had all tracers but let me finish anyway...he he...good times....

Tactical note to shooters....tracers work both ways...

On the nights that our gun platoon had perimeter H&I duty our crewchiefs and door gunners would spend the afternoon loading belts of all tracers for the M60s. When "wing" would let loose with the mini-guns and the gunners with their M60s it looked as though we had four mini-guns. Pretty neat show. regards, Alemaster

Yes indeed, II Corps, RVN, a long time ago in a place far away. Gun plt of the 129th AHC. "Charlie" and "Mike" model UH-1 gunships, platoon callsign "Cobra." Slicks were "Bulldogs." CEs (crewchiefs)and gunners were the best "in country." regards, Alemaster

Thank you for your service...it is largely because of the way Vietnam vets fought back against how the country treated them when they returned that so many of us current veterans now have so much respect and required services available to us...

..its never that long ago if you can still remember....
